I like them, but don't have many. That is the standard uniform for many businesses. V neck plain T's are better, maybe some striped ones too.

Yeah, polos are so common they may come across as a bit generic, but they're totally acceptable in almost any situation. Pretty much the blue jeans of shirts.

Where I come from a polo shirt is a statement about which side of the class line you stand on.

It's a spoiled pants shitting rich kid thing.

It's likely different in other parts of the world, I really hope it is!

But the connection for me is permanent.

I agree Polo is kind of preppy but I also think they are much more common now.  Average dude could walk by wearing Polo, Gucci or Levi clothing now adays.

I think there's a distinction here: a "polo shirt" generally means a collared shirt with 2-3 buttons on it.

The brand polo, also makes polo shirts. However, you can also get polo shirts at target for like $10.
