Freezing fresh mushrooms will result in mush. Yucky. Freezing dried mushrooms is supposed to help keep them magical longer. I've never tried either, myself.

Pick them when they start to open up. Dry them with a fan or a/c vent. Finish the drying in a tupperware container with damp-rid or other dessicant. Put a paper towel between them and the dessicant. When they are cracker-dry, then freeze them. Bag them up and put the baggie in tupperware, with dessicant, to prevent defrost cycle condensation in the freezer.

I was wondering if I could add to you're question avarrin. I thought about freezing my fresh mushrooms when they grow, in about two weeks. I'm curious to know if anyone knows any other way of preserving fresh mushrooms besides drying them or putting them in honey?------------------ Stoner live and stoners die, but in the end we all get high. They can be refirgerated for about 4 days in a paper bag, with a paper towel or a dessicant pack in the bag... this will keep it dryish, and keep them from rotting too fast.
