I've always believed that since I was a kid, would be disappointed if it turned out to be untrue.

My worst toss and wash was a couple years ago. I was having trouble mixing in my mouth and I ran out of breath. I exhaled and the kratom went up my sinuses. It burned, my eyes were watering, and I had kratom-snot pouring out of my nose for hours afterwards.

Toss and wash is still the best though.

I would heat a bit in the kettle, pour a 1/4" in the shot glass (just enough so the powder doesn't stick to the bottom), put the K in and mush it around with a short fondue skewer (low surface area for the K to get stuck on), add a bit more water to drinkable consistency and slam it back, rinse glass with a bit of water and throw that down the hatch to clean out the remainder.

Pro tip: turn the faucet on and carefully more the glass under the stream before you do the last rinse of the bits or you're guaranteed to spurt green crap all over the kitchen.

My mom uses a spice bottle which is glass and has a very secure lid. She shakes it up somewhat violently and negates the solubility issues that way. She can also put a dose in to have on hand when she's out and about and her pain creeps in. I don't like this method because there's way more glass surface for the green to stick to that you have to rinse to get it all.


That is actually why I prefer cold/lukewarm water. IME it absorbs the flavor slower, washing it down with some coffee is incredibly smooth.

5 weeks seems virtually impossible, I don't think kratoms effects on the body should persist more then a week or two for most people. Are you sure it's entirely related? What did you start using kratom for initially? Sounds like you are going through 1 week of actual withdrawals and reverting to a depressed state after.

I use kratom for anti depressant effects so W/D aside not using it can make me revert to my usual bipolar nature, but honestly the last time I took a break I felt better then when I started using kratom. Though if I used higher doses it might be different :shrug:

If you never weighed your doses do you have any idea of how much you took? That was your first mistake, unless you're using it for extreme pain or addiction most people don't need too high of doses. And you risk more side effects with excessive doses. If you do try it again get a scale and start with only 1-2g doses, and if you prefer higher doses then try and take regular breaks and you should be fine.

lol I know it seems pretty absurd on first thought...you can use a ply of Kleenex instead of tp. It's literally the same thing. Paper. Tp just comes in perfect squares that are easy to use. No different than swallowing a blotter if you think about it


A tiny piece of blotter is definitely different then some bleached tissue paper or TP. I used to eat paper as a kid but it's not a good habit, probably not the worst but kleenex seems nasty...

of course i can't be 100% sure, but what i'm experiencing seems to match other people's reports of "paws" albeit longer lasting than average. I was using kratom for insomnia and as a pre workout. My average dose must have been between five and ten grams. I plan to wait a few more weeks and then star using kratom again on weekends only, since i can smoke pot again i don't have to worry about insomnia.

Kratom kinda sucked was cool when i first started taking it but being nauseous all the time sucks also made me super stressed and anxious i wasnt using it in a healthy manner at all though. Also the withdrawals were annoying. But i never had a problem jus putting a dust cloud on my tongue an washin it down with water.

to answer the original question, i always just mixed it with some water and drank it down. nothing is really that bad when you're used to cactus tea.

I make it into a tea. Much better hot than cold. It's still kind of bitter and I used to have to mix it with honey but I drink it pretty much straight now and actually enjoy the taste. Another option is a smoothie, but stick with fruits like strawberry and banana. Blueberry is fine but too but will energize the bitterness ime

Guys, mix it with some hot water and drink/sip it down.  The taste isn't bad at all, don't know what you're all smoking... :smug:

It seems much less effective in capsules.

I've read several things that lead me to believe that it's most effective after having been in heated water.  Could this be something similar to heating up bud to "activate" it for oral consumption?  Decarbing it or somesuch?

Have you ever tried cooking with it?

I haven't tasted the stuff so have no idea how easy it would be mask it's flavour in soup/biscuits (cookies) or any of these recipes.

Any one tried this?

I did some reading on caps awhile back, and interestingly enough different kinds of caps react better or worse when drank with hot or cold liquids.

IME veggie caps are basically just as good as washing it right down, but I could see thicker gel caps slowing things down and getting hard on the stomach in excess.

This is what I see most often around here when people buy kratom at my buddy's shop.
Guess it must work relatively well for most, but a couple sips of kratom flavored OJ and I start to not feel so hot.

For kraghurt sauce to go in a wrap, add one plain joghurt, one kratom, minced garlic to taste, toasted cumin seeds, rosemary, freshly squeezed lemon juice to taste, hot sauce if you like, and salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
