Hi
This is a friends first grow and there are concerns that the colour is contamination.
This is B+ spores shot to LC, shot to Rye grain and spawnd to horse poo.
Sterile tek was followed as best as could untill the the spawning to poo where the poo was only pasteurised and spawnd to a mono tub where it could have potentially pick up contamination from the air?
We have read other peoples similar posts where people say "oh its just mycelium piss" but with lack of experience and differences in what we read we have to ask for advice.

Nope. looks good to me very good for a first timer. It looks like it need some more FAE tho. Is it in fruiting conditions?

yes its at 22C with natural light available and a basic table lamp turned on 24/7 we are afraid to fan it(contamination opportunity) so have only done it so far a few times is contamination from airflow something We should not be overly worried about at this stage?

Don't need to fan it...either flip the lid or loosen the polyfil.

At this point contamination from airflow is not a concern.

its been 2 days this is the growth..

We dont like the look of it...
there is some colour on the tips and it just looks crappy in general?

any advice?


also birthed 2 BRF cakes 2 days ago and wondering if this one look normal?

thinking the growth is kinda fuzzy. We have been keeping a close eye on it and over the course of 2 days the growth has not been rapid like we would perhaps expect a mold to be? but we are not experienced enough to tell.

Top three pictures looks like bruising on the tips...might be drying out a little...nothing to worry about

The cake is fine...mush myc crowning through the verm layer.  :thumbup:
