Pretty sure the top one is pan. papillonaceous. Not sure about the rest. Prints are a good suggestion. Pan pap is not active and doesn't taste super good.

No taping, just let it sit there for 12+ hours. And yes cut the cap, place on paper or foil.

They should come back year after year, spores spread or not...

Mushrooms are not like an annual plant that needs to be reseeded every year - they are more like a tree and the mushroom is the fruit. Underground there is a mycelium (the tree) that is always there, when conditions are right it grows it's fruit - the mushrooms you see above ground.

If you want to do something better, don't spread the spores where you pick - spread them in a similar habitat that doesn't have any yet.

I'm most familiar with the species found in the Pacific Northwest - those found in other parts of the world may vary considerably, so always do your own research to find out what grows in your area and what lookalikes you need to be aware of. Understand that many mushroom species cannot be 100% reliably identified by photographs alone, even by an expert, so it may not be possible to go beyond suggesting a probable genus.

Cut the stem off as close to the cap as possible and place the cap gills down on a piece of paper or foil, I prefer foil because I can see all spore colors. Leave them to print for a minimum of 6-8hrs.
