My 1st hunt * 1

Hi all.
This is my first post so take it easy lol.
I went on my first hunt today (Sheffield)
I didn't have as much time as I would have liked but I think it was productive still and I enjoyed myself. I was hoping to find something magic but it wasn't to be. Anyway here are a few of what I found feel free to I'd them or check out my profile for more.

Doesn't look like anything active. The pics are too small, and we would at least need to see clear pics of the cap, stem and gills plus a spore print to properly identify them.

Its good to look at every mushroom you see, and great to try to identify them, that's what I've been doing too. But if you are hunting specifically for magic mushrooms you are much better off learning what ones grow in your area, what they grow on and where they are likely to be.
Study the photos.

It will really help you narrow down your search!
I'm still relatively new to mushroom hunting myself, but not to cultivation. So as far as active species go I have an advantage having worked with several species closely.

Thanks, I am hopefully going to come across the magic (liberty caps?) ones but I am enjoying finding different varieties for now, I would like to taste some wild shrooms but I wouldn't dare eat any that have not been id 'd as being safe.for now though if nothing else i get to be out in the open.
How/where would I find out what grows in my area other than getting out there?

I was thinking of photographing any I suspect to be active, post the pics here and on positive id return to pick them or post pics while still on site if mobile network allows
