What are hallucinaions and where does culture come in * 1
    #25532798 -

Seems western culture ignores hallucinations when they are dreams.  Then if someone talks of dreaming while awake, they are ill.  So drug culture tends to identify with hallucinations much more.

To me, hallucinations or dreaming is just imagination.  We either except or reject our own practice of observing our imagination.  There is not much science to dreaming or hallucinations either, outside of unproven theories.

We've become a culture in the authority realms afraid of our own imagination.  Why?  Because dangerous imagination gets all the attention.  In my experience fear is contaigious and easily programable.  It's possible and has been experimented, that a mantra of freaking out will lead to freaking out.

So I do hope that with psycadelic research we can harbor less negativity about dreaming minds.  The system is engineered to make people freak out, hostility, brutal confrontation, and every bad imagination.

It's enginered less for loss of ego into bliss as it is for depersonalization into horror.  Likely from an overly strict religious culture.  The more a kid is told not to do something, the more they want to do just that.

We have all those freedoms, in dreams, in imagination.  Reality is only as good as we imagine it being and only as bad.

All of the visual hallucinations I’ve had are the brain trying to make patterns out of the light pouring in through your eyes. I don’t think there’s anything sacred about geometry

Can you see your imagination?  How imagination proceeds and overlays perception?

for me, it is all thinking:
sensations are thinking,
memories are thinking,
dreams are thinking,
hallucinations are thinking,
even the practice of meditation is thinking.

there are different qualities between the experience of these varieties of thinking but they are all dependent on objects from memory (which are associated (contextually similar to) previous mental contents) and the environment (as a mental object feed).

the physics that I observe in my primitive scientific way is that dreams and hallucinations involve blended or overlapped mental objects which are an artifact (byproduct) of the state of mind.

I define state of mind as the brain's resonance property in which there can be a measurable fade duration for any mental contents from less than 1/15th of a second normally, up to 3 seconds for extreme intoxication or dreaminess, and any more than that is whiteout or blackout.

Anything that can extend the resonance of any thinking (or mental object) can cause dreaminess or hallucination (and other intersting side effects).

Psychedelic substances can do it as well as emotional stress, or neurological disorder. Even alcohol can bring it on.

paternal figures, and entities(governments/religions/systems) that watch over people take life as a serious matter that takes much toiling to sustain, or to secure longevity. they view psychedelics as as a dangerous distraction or possible threat to security to culture/society.

people that use psychedelics are like explores, those that left society and the status quo, in search of something new....

if new things are found...they disrupt the current systems. there are plenty of powerful people that would not want the system that gives their prodigy higher success rates to suddenly change and lose competitive advantage.

western culture is very much so built around dominance and respecting hierarchy.

minds have dreamed of ways we can have abundance and take care of the planet...but we stifle what's possible...to maintain dominating profits of time.

our culture worships, individual identities, excess, power over others, competition where there are clear winners and losers...

psychedelics are the forbidden fruits that open our eyes to knowledge of good and evil...they help us escape the cultural brainwashing and increases openness...and sometimes motivates individuals to break societal norms in search of a more just world.

the dreamers are ignored, because they would disrupt power and industry. we have technology today that can provide clean energy, quickly build cheap and efficient homes, and grow food...but if the level field were even....genetic competition would become an entirely different game and void or drastically lessen the advantage of any given entity in the current model.

culture is hardened and fluid in a multi generational sense...psychedelics would only loosen that rigidity....and in turn cause quite a few entities to lose a piece of their cherished and proud identity.

There are both hallucinations that occur in darkness...

And hallucinations that occur in light..

hence closed eye visuals vs open eyed visuals..

also open eyed in the dark or in the light compared to closed eyed vs openeyed (which, when powerful in the light, actually may be Delirium type hallucinations(semi-conscious/intermittently conscious) waking dreams type phantasms.)

Our perception of reality is a hallucination.

Particles of light enter our eyes at random orientations, molecules enter our nose and create smells, and electrical signals are carried through our body to denote touch.

All of this is meaningless however, a jumble of unusable information, without a brain to make sense of it all.

We do not see light, our brain creates a fake image based on it's input.

As I see it, "hallucinations" are simply when the brain gets a little confused... Due to stress, sleep deprivation, drugs, ect.
And either the input, or the output get tampered with in some way.

prupose is an extension of the self..

With a window to view things..in and out of the time of the cosmic window itself.. which is about novelty...the i ching solves everything..from the clue of the window itself(observation)..or the notes that are taken thereof..which are therefore true about the time itself..which is about durations of things that you like and dislike... based on degree of creating..you will know yourself through acts...which create karma..and then reside in the soul..so that you can know something..and understand its place in Creation/eternity..

The will of God is always good for you,..to go out and do a ten right now..is always brilliant..you can get high on LSD..to be able to perform some experiments..inside and out of the barter of time..in which we all share each others thoughts..and put them up on the internet as a logos..

In each of us is the writing of destiny..and easy user can go through anything at any time..you elect what you want to take..and that therefore becomes creation..of the self and the causm of others..and the other..or otherwise Aether..which is the laws of physics in dynamic balance..with the hands that use them..as people..or otherwise Homo Sapien beings..which are without regret about travelling..or even meeting people..but only with pain or depressed feelings..

Quote:
and, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

I don't remember that part of the allegorical tv show, but I like David Lynch, and if it fits his mysticism to believe in purposes, that's great! the art he does is wonderful.

I had a Tibetan Buddhist teacher who said the purpose of life is to transcend one's self, i.e. learn and become better than your habituated limitations define.

my purpose is to continue to relax and see more, as an ongoing effort, it is not singular, everything is connected, so this just pulls me in my direction to see more. not as mystical as it could be.

To me, hallucinations or dreaming is just imagination.

Why would someone imagine the below quote instead of a naked babe? The neurological reasoning is brain damage. But what's your thoughts?

"The young man recalls a story wherein he believed that the hospital staff pranked him by placing a severed human leg in his bed and somehow the leg attached to him. He then tries violently to tear the leg off but obviously fails as it is his own leg. Instead he throws himself out of the bed!"

From The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat by Oliver Sacks.

Hallucinations means your not acting correctly..they are there to sharpen you and correct you in the way of punishing yourself to do or learn something
