edible or not? Mushroom ID help, Ireland
    #25489706 -

Hi! I have these mushrooms pop up all over my lawn. They have a lovely mushroomy smell. Off-white beige colourof stem and gills, and cap, plus a bit of off-brown on top of the cap developing from the centre. Cap is slightly more roundy at first but then opens up to flat. What exactly is this and is it edible? Thank you!

Hebeloma sp. Nothing you'd want to eat.

Your best bet is to get an overview of the most common and easy to identify edible species growing in your region.
Learn all their important features, as well as potential look alikes, and if you can get hold of a good and up-to-date
field guide, that will help a lot. If there is anything like a mycological society existing in your area, get yourself a
membership.

Will check out the guides, Anglerfish! Thank you! I am a bit sporadic but determined. So found these guys and after checking online what should be growing now didn't find it, but suspect it could be gyms? brown-orange caps with slight scars, the cap curves inwards and the gills are darker than the cap, waiting on a sporeprint, but here are the images

Some people say they're tasty. I never tried them though. How did you prepare them?
