Yup.

Of course, Powell does represent the president - he doesn't have the right to express his own opinion in public without considering how it'll reflect on the president.

the terror that they will have to return to a

these people are just doing their jobs, let's not
forget that.

Please explain. I know that an Iraqi politician saying that he thought war was wrong would hardly make me want to kill anyone.

(BTW I have no enemies in Iraq that I am aware of. Maybe here on this board, but not in Iraq. :wink:)

You can see how Bush's actions might be found to be creating more enemies in Iraq can't you? Notice the uniting of groups that hate each other (Sunnis and Shi'ites) to fight a common foe.

I think being occupied by a foreign army, helicopters firing missiles into civilian areas, 70% unemployment, complete anarchy, third world healthcare and corrupt US puppet "rulers" are going to be *slightly* more important to the average Iraqi than the words of Teddy Kennedy.

Kind of like since global warming is destroying the world it makes dumping garbage in the ocean a good idea.

Just because a situation is bad doesn't mean making it worse is a good idea. Besides, Swami was suggesting that Powell had somehow infringed on pumpkinhead's first ammendment rights somehow which was patently false.

I think you're way overestimating the importance of Teddy Kennedy to the average Iraqi.

Just because a situation is bad doesn't mean making it worse is a good idea

Why do you automatically think someone disagreeing with the Bush administration is going to make things worse?

Try looking at it another way - if Rumsfield and Bremer are the only voice Iraqis hear from America it could just as easily increase the numbers joining the insurgency.
