Fighting didnt teach me self control, wanting to better myself and be a decent person did. Pretty much the opposite of your stance, avoiding getting your ass kicked can just mean jumping people instead of going one on one.

Attacking people doesnt make you a better person

Your missing an avoiding the point, when a kid learns pain they begin to understand consequences. Childhood fights are natural and healthy.

I've often wondered about this. As a veteran of many school fights in a time and place where it was completely normal to have to fight once in a while, when looking at kids these days they just don't look like they're that way inclined any more.

I imagine they're more interested in out-Facebooking each other than actually going toe to toe nowdays...


It's probably more due to the zero tolerance policies in most public schools. Fighting for any reason is automatic expulsion, at least on paper.

i was talking about in middle school and whatnot. its such an adrenaline rush and nobody gets THAT hurt because you are not really strong enough to big damage. Its fun as hell, win or lose. having half the school cheer on while you and another idiot fight is pretty cool
