They're getting there.
The new album might cement them. I am expecting great things. A return to Rock.

I really like Hail to the Thief. It was the only album my brother had when I started expanding my musical horizons, so it's the album of theirs that I first started listening to. I find that happens with most bands, the first album I hear is usually my favorite, or up there even if it's clearly not one of their best works.

That happens with me quite often as well. For example my favorite Pavement record is Brighten the Corners and my favorite Built to Spill record is without a doubt Keep it Like a Secret. When it comes to Radiohead, though, The Bends takes the cake.

I can't pick a favorite Radiohead album. Some how I don't have The Bends on my computer. I even have Pablo Honey on here and I don't even like that one.

OY! What a monstrous fucking oversight dude! My most epic moments at Radiohead shows is when they dip into The Bends. When I saw them do Fake Plastic Trees about a year and a half ago when the Black Keys opened for them at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, I had one of those full-body chills existential experiences only the rarest live music experience can convey.
And don't even get me started on when I saw them do Planet Telex at Coachella. Yikes.

I have yet to see Radiohead live I guess I'm a little young to have seen them and actually appreciate the live show (seeing Tool at 13 wasn't nearly as awesome as seeing them at 19, I imagine the same would be true of Radiohead.) Hopefully the tour the will do for this new album will bring them near me somewhere.

They love touring, they really do, they love playing live. After such a long layoff I would expect a huge world tour with two swings through America. One would probably be a stadium tour in the colder time of the year followed by a outdoor tour in the summer. It'll be fucking sweet. Hopefully I can follow them around a bit.

Nah, you just gotta have friends with couches, catch a ride, maybe a hook up or two for a free ticket (which I could probably swing in nearby cities like Philly or Boston where my gf's brother has connections in the music industry).

Velvet Underground or The Pixies.
If we are talking about newer bands that I can't really call "the greatest" yet then Radiohead or The Strokes.
