Ok that was weird typing that. I got off work around 11 tonight. I was sitting at one of the tables in the lobby of the theatre waiting for a ride home from one of the managers and i see some dude coming to the door. Its this dude that just got suspended and another couple dudes that work there. They walk in and i see that dude has a gun! At first i was like what is that? BB gun, airsoft, pellet? He showed me the clip and i saw what looked to be hollowpoints.
I was utterly fucking shocked. speechless at this dudes stupidity.
i mean WTF?!?!

Well it is Richmond. In the last week both shotgun shells and 9mm rounds and a dagger were found left in the theatre by someone.
On weekends the guards are armed, fights all the time.
This just amazed me. He was so blatant about it like it was a toy. He gave it to his buddy who was holding it with his finger on the trigger while he played with the mouth of the barrel with the other hand.

Even if you have a CCW, it is illegal to un-conceal your weapon when you aren't planning on using it. That is called instigating public panic, or threatening the welfare of others.
Carrying a gun around without a CCW is plain stupid.
And, if you have a CCW and act like that dude, you shouldn't have a CCW.
Also, a gun should always be treated as if it's loaded. Call me paranoid, but I keep my gun near my bed with a full clip. Even so, I don't keep a bullet chambered, and have the hammer half-cocked with the safety on. Thus, one would need to take off the safety and cock the gun to do anything with it.
Why is it stupid to carry a gun with out your Conceal and Carry? You really want to stick around after you just capped someone? With conceal or carry or not. If i am carrying a gun its there to fuck people up.
I wouldn't even want to have to deal with the hassle of being around when the cops arrive. Just gotta make sure no one can ID you.

I'm not sure if you mean pull it out of it's holster, or just unconceal it, but if the latter is the case, then you may be wrong. There are a lot of states where open carry is legal. For instance, Philidelphia is the only city in PA that doesn't permit open carry.

Nope. Getting robbed or killed because you don't have something to fight with is stupid.

To everyone in this thread: They are not clips, they are magazines. A clip is totally different.

I hope you practice a lot. If not, you might not react properly in a stressful situation. Not a good feeling to pull the trigger and realize there isn't a round chambered. Or worse yet, the safety is on

It probably does vary from place to place but I've known of people who got into big trouble with cops solely because someone saw the outline of their gun through their clothes and told a cop. You really need to be careful with that shit if you have a cwp and are carrying.

So it's legal to just walk around downtown and go shopping and shit with a gun hanging off your belt?

I carry a glock. Unless it's concealed without a permit, or you take it in a place with a "no guns allowed" rule, then it's legal. You can carry it on your belt. (well, where I live anyway) But just because I carry one doesn't mean I'm gonna go on a killing spree.

all i know is it varies from state to state. Nj you have to have a gun in the trunk and the bullets up front.
But in other states you have to have the gun up front and not in the trunk.
Then an other state has the three side arm rule, where it must be visible from three sides.
In Pa, you can carry it in a holster on your belt as long as you got the pappers to carry.

carry laws vary from state to state. over here in the souf you're hard pressed to find a state that doesn't allow open carry.

Here, (NC) you can carry it without papers as long as it's visible. Fully loaded if you like. Carry it in the front of the car loaded if you like. (Just warn the officer before he approaches the car if you get pulled) All you gotta do to carry it concealed is be 21, and take a couple day class to get a permit.

Legal in most states. Municipal level is where you might run into some trouble.

Pick a state and I'll link you, or check out the links debianlinux provided.

the Richmond way........
Ya know what? im sick of that bullshit. Bangers make me sick. I tired of having to be aware of every single thing thats going on around me when i need to get somewhere after dark. Having to constantly look behind me, change my route whenever i see a group of more than 4 i my path, and walk by gang tags on my block.
My brother was jumped 3 weeks ago a block from our house by 4 wannabe badasses who he said were in like probobly 10th grade.
Im getting out of this shithole as soon as i can. Its depressing....really.
I remember a couple years ago. A buddy was staying at my house and we walked to the park a few blocks away to smoke a bowl at like 11:30 or something. We walk up and its crawling with cops.
It turns out there was a gang shooting earlier. It happened during a little league game or something like that A dude got shot in the back and killed. Just because of what he was wearing.
I want to move back to the city i went to high school in.
