Repressing death is therefore harmful to humans.

There's a big difference between repressing and refraining.

An adult generally knows how to exercise the latter.

Point is there's nothing exceptional about violence that makes it worth preserving or making excuses for. The "its human nature" argument is just laziness. So is rape.

It's a matter of dominance.  For better or worse (because who are we to say?), humans generally side with the dominant force.  Survival instincts would be my guess.

As someone who lives in this world and has experienced a lot of violence, Id say the world is better off without any unnecessary violence. There's no upside to being oppressed, and having to defend yourself sucks

There's no need for a dominating presence at all, its obstructive to the majority

It is. Many choose to play out the fantasy behind closed doors. Very few act maliciously by raping someone who doesn't want to be raped.

Most fights are mutual. Very few act maliciously by attacking someone who doesn't want to fight.

Some people are abused to the point where they don't know fair and proper boundaries.

I think that saying 'violence should be kept out of schools so people can learn to be civilized' is a utopian ideal. I completely agree with you but I'd rather be a realist than an idealist. I used to be an idealist and it caused me a lot of suffering.

If you want some truth read Audie Murphey's account of WW2, or do some digging into the actions of the Taliban, Al qaeda and Daesh.

Violence outside the ring is more often than not far harsher than you portray it, there's no logic to feeding into the world's problems by supporting banal violent mentalities.

If violence in schools has gone down and kids are more concerned with "out face booking eachother", thats a step forward in our evolution as a civilization

To be fair, I wasn't really considering the atrocities of warfare when we started this discussion. My point was that I think it's quite natural (and perhaps even somewhat healthy) to fight once in a while - especially when we're at that stage where we're finding our own place in the social hierarchy that surrounds us. Just about all young animals playfight - why?

As we become adults I suspect that it is less healthy in light of reason, but sometimes necessary also. The fact remains it will probably forever be an unavoidable facet of human existence for as long as we remain homo sapiens.

If you want to drag warfare into the equation then I hold my hands up to the fact that's a discussion I'd rather not enter into right now.

^^Here's the position.

It's not "Chaos" that we despise, it's 'Overbearing Variety'.

Homogenizing all these forums together would be overbearing.

So we are entirely selfish and propose to lasso everyone into defending our standard of selfishness.

If you have a valid argument then it doesnt merit ridicule. But yeah, if you're declaring a belief system on the extremely outside chance that something exists that there is zero evidence for.

Like I said, its the same as being agnostic about vampires.

Some people truly enjoy fighting for sport. Not sure anyone would enjoy actually being raped, but I've had a couple girlfriends who begged to be defiled and roughed up while having sex.  Are you suggesting your version of "shitty" should be applied to everyone?  When did you become our almighty moral compass?  To be clear I in no way condone rape, murder or theft.
