I like going and having a drink during the day. The retired old guys always have a neat story to tell and the pool tables are generally open.

I think I'm done with bars lol. They feel so fucking lame to me. I literally gained nothing by going except a little buzz and perhaps the knowledge that I don't care to go back. I also find the hook up game lame as fuck and most the people seem dumb there anyway.

straight bars are weird to me as a gay guy, so many tough guys and usually a high male to female (7 to 1?) ratio leads to a lot of silly drama.

unless you like random bar talk and getting trashed i would avoid bars as well. been working in them for the last 10 years and bar people can be special for sure.

I was actually at a gay bar tonight but even then... Maybe it's just the one in my area but there are more like 30-40 year olds than people in their 20's there it seems and I'm not into any of those kinda guys.

I used to frequent a bar in my town. Not much in the way of people my own age, mostly older dudes and women, but they tend to be a lot more chill than the just out of high school kids that show up for whatever reason.

Sometimes it's fun. I don't go there to pick up women. The bar I like best is actually a dive bar. I can sit at a back table and openly snort lines of coke as long as I keep it somewhat discreet :lol:

The old people can be pretty funny. Sometimes you get to see dudes in their 60's duking it out :lol:

I haven't been there since maybe November. Maybe I should go back and see if the crowd has changed any. It's way cheaper to drink at home though. I usually put back about 5-6 drinks before going so I only end up spending $25-$30 there. Although I have been known to spend well over $100 combined with me and my brother when our aim is to get trashed :lol:

I was supposed to go out tonight to this cancer benefit at a local heavy metal biker bar. I already went to a Jazz bar and my church earlier in the week, though, so I'm done with being around people for awhile.

I generally roll solo though, and it's interesting people-watching, but it can be draining. I generally do not meet people whom I feel a strong desire to get involved with, when I go out.

the younger gay generation doesn't need bars to find sex where the older generation it was a huge part of the culture. i live in a vacation town full of retired gays and lots of them literally live in the bars. if you like younger people the internet is best to meet people without them putting on a front.

also imo gay culture is nothing to celebrate, lots of people nursing broken childhoods with alcohol and other drugs. it is all about being fab and getting fucked up and getting fucked. obviously a large generalization but on one hand we say "it gets better" and on the other we exploit young desperate gay people for our own pleasure. it is a mirror of the straight world in most aspects.


i like the leather community the best as it is the most honest, not into the kink side sexually but i found the people to be the most normal.

For me alcohol is overpriced enough as it is without going to a bar. Probably been 2 years since I've been to one.
