I'm searching for an ant farm.

I keep seeing ones with gel, ones with sand, and they seem to only hold 10-15 ants.

Anyone familiar with them and have a recommendation as to what route I should go?

get mealworms and give them a huge block of styofoam to tunnel in. Can't see all their tunnels but its still pretty cool

There’s a trippy thing on youtube about a dude who set up this giant ant colony in his house/apartment.  It was pretty amazing how the ants worked together and became like one huge living organism.  They would formulate jailbreaks etc.

I've considered breeding crickets or cockroaches as food for my Bearded Dragons, but it seems like it's more work than it's worth. I pay 6 cents per cricket from the pet store. I've known the people there for so long they give them to me for half price.

An ant farm with glass panels seems cool though. I'd dig one of those. Would be cool as fuck to watch while tripping on shrooms too.

Anyone seen those vids where they pour molten aluminum into ant hills and then extract it like it’s a piece of art? Pretty neat, imo. I’d love to have a small one.

I used to pick them up online.  I think it was something like $15 for 1’000 of them and you can just set up an old 10 gallon with some egg crate that comes in the box with them and set up some sliced potatos etc. to feed them.  I found that easier than trying to breed them because it takes all the work out and plus, crickets reek man.  They accumulate a pretty strong funk after awhile.  And you can gut load them and dust them with vit/calcium so you lizard gets his nutes and all that.  They also sell wax worms and the whole nine so it’s a one stop shop and you have food for a couple months.  No more trips to the cricket shop, if you factor gas and time it’s pretty much like getting all your lizard food for free.
