Well, then I guess I can continue to say such things because Ben Shapiro and his supporters (some group I don't agree with) were not injured (attacked) by counter-protesters (antifa?).

Besides, I don't believe in the ideal of limitless free speech anyways. My post was simply calling out Connoisseur for their incorrect framing of the nights events.

One generally protests against things they disagree with. That doesn't mean anyone was attacked, unless by that you mean "fiercely criticized".

What is that video supposed to prove? Any "Left-Wing Violence" YouTube compilation put out by a group of people known for stretching the truth and straight up lying is going to be a biased piece of poo. I thought you were distrustful of media? Do you know the context behind these cuts, or just trust that it only shows antifa beating up the innocent and undeserving?

Anarchism (because that's what really lies behind these antifa and commie labels) ideologically opposes fascism, capitalism, and the state - and also, anarchists militantly oppose fascists, capitalists, and the police. This has never been denied or apologized for, nor will it ever be. If you believe these things worth preserving, then we will always oppose you.

And you know why anarchists oppose these things, right? Because they wish to create a society where no one rules or is ruled; whereas fascists seek a society  where, as Orwell put it: imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever. This is one reason why "both sides" and horseshoe theory is horseshit.

You know what those videos don't show? Anarchists relief efforts in the wake of the hurricanes in the southern United States or in response to the earthquakes in Mexico. Anarchists in Greece organizing free healthcare for both locals and migrants. Prisoner support, free schools, community meals. The idea of mutual aid is fundamental to anarchy, and features more prominently than militant violence does - this comes from living my entire adult life outside, on the road, putting my anarchist ideals to the test with the various communities I've passed through - once again, I thought you knew better than to let media feed you a false narrative.

You know what else these videos don't show? Anarchists indiscriminately killing anyone. The level of violence displayed in a 'worst of antifa' compilation forever pales in comparison to that which we see from both grassroots fascism and the state - because anarchist violence is reactionary violence towards those who would be violent by design, nothing more. Is it always properly directed? No, but I would rather have antifascist mistakes over fascist success. Besides, as indiscriminate violence is not sought, an internal discussion is always ongoing to recognize and minimize such mistakes.

Akira, unless you are a fascist, willingly associated with fascists, or initiated the confrontation (like by sticking your camera in their faces), no antifascist is going to confront you -and if you are doing any of those things, you deserve it imo. If you ever actually care enough about something to go out and protest, you will realize how much all reporting media distorts the situation in the ground. If you are reading/watching any political reporting, thinking yours is the unbiased source, you are wrong.

No substitute for getting your boots dirty. I recommend it.

whoa whoa whoa, strictly ANTIFA. :smirk: you're decentalized, remember, you can't account for, and therefore, take stock of and responsibility for, all the actions of "antifascists" and anarchists overall.

you know, there is a lot of biased media. maybe ANTIFA should stop mistaking "Trump fans" and such, people who aren't fascists or supremacists of any kind, as such, and then beating them up when they get confronted by such people.

I only piss in my pants when I see people trying to stop other people from exercising their right to free speech and ideas.

I also don't care for people like yourself justifying violence when you disagree with certain people.

How one could call for violence against certain groups they disagree with and then claim concerns such as health care for those same individuals doesn't make very much sense to most people.

yeah, that isn't what occurred. again with the reifying. "nazis must, as per their arranged usage of the label, MUST, absolutely must 'advocate for genocide', automatically for assuming the label, because if you're a nazi it means you must advocate for genocide".

this is called a truism. it not only assumes everything that is false, and is a false premise, as well, and this is not how the reality of the situation works.
