It was disrespectful and I would imagine a breach of proper conduct rules while in session. Perhaps McCain is right and he should apologize.:shrug:

My advice is to find those things that give pleasure and do them often without too much attachment and relax and wait for the show to end.

I like free markets and all. Truly I do, at least in general, but there needs to be some kind of oversight in recognition of sustainability. Life works the same way, on a bunch of sustainable systems. Why not honor what made us what we are and take some lessons? Nature FTW!

Obama said this right before the congressman called him a liar.


"Some of people's concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost," Obama said. "The best example is the claim, made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. "Wilson obtained bachelor's degree from Washington and Lee University in 1969, obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1972, worked as a real estate attorney, and co-founded the law firm Kirkland, Wilson, Moore, Taylor & Thomas[1] in West Columbia, where he practiced for over 25 years. What should we expect.  Republican have been shouting down democrats for weeks now.  Apparently the notion of trying to have a reasonable public debate marked with civility to every ones turn is out weighed by the boorish act of simply making the person who disagrees with you stop talking, and address your childless behavior.

If the good congressman wants to talk at a joint session of congress I suggest he gets elected president.  I have less problem with the fact that he believes the president was lying (even though he wasn't) than his actions which suggest that the president should be allowed to speak in peace.

As for Palin, the president was alluding to many members of congress who are, in fact, spreading lies regarding health care.  I would like to note that despite these lies the president hasn't bent arms preventing them from going on t.v. or writing news paper articles in the wall street journal.  He certainly hasn't inserted the word "lie" after every lie they print.  No, he hasn't tried to prevent them from speaking their mind one bit.  I would presume that the president has more respect for the notion of public debate than to do that.  Even if such "debate" from republicans are gross and misleading lies.
