A message to everyone talking shit about Joel Osteen failing to house evacuees until pressured to * 2

I grew up in a neighborhood that has been almost completely destroyed by Harvey.

Joel Osteen may not have immediately housed evacuees, but Christian churches of various denominations around the city appear to be one of if not the largest source of volunteer efforts: housing, feeding, and coordinating the distribution of donations for evacuees.

I would be interested to see how many of those who have lambasted Joel O'steen for doing nothing have themselves done anything to help- other than collectively pressuring Joel O'steen into providing housing :rolleyes:

The thing you must always keep in mind is the only thing people know is what they are told.

Can't fault someone for negatively judging a person when all they've heard is bad things about them.


Glad to know the man did something good with his wealth though.

To me, the craziest thing about this whole Joel Osteen thing was in the video that that dude posted to twitter, proving that the super church wasn't flooded.  In the short vid, dude says twice that he worships Joel Osteen.  Not that he worships with Osteen, or worships at Osteen's church; he bluntly said that he worships Joel Osteen.  I'd only ever heard a little bit about Osteen until the past week, but I thought it was pretty crazy to learn that people actually worship this guy.  Christianity is pretty freaky in 2017.
