It was about time we had one of these threads. The 'fucking bikers' topic comes up at least a couple of times a year.

I always feel sorry for the complainers, for they will never know the true thrills and feelings of absolute freedom that come with along with the risks of being a biker on the roads.

When one is passionate about living this life to the fullest, there are few better tools IMO.

Perhaps. Perhaps I'm a total and absolute cunt. I think I'm pretty respectful in my seeking of adventure personally. I can't tell you how many beautiful interactions came from pedestrians and car drivers when I rented a Harley and rode the southern states recently..

Like this one, when I rolled into a random biker bar in southern Tennessee for a cold one and directions. Don't look like a bunch of wankers really do they? But without the biker connection, quite possibly I wouldn't have spent a night with such beautiful souls:

I think he's mad because you can filter and he can't.  :shrug:

It seriously blows my mind how angry drivers get when they see me filter up to a red light.  Especially since I usually give them a chance to pull ahead of me, since I really have no interest in being the lead vehicle right off of the limit line.

i used to have a blast on my Honda CBR 900RR and Kawasaki KLR 650 dual sport, going for long scenic rides all over the northeast, carving up the curvy roads and hitting around 150 on some of the straight-aways.  Also been to some awesome biker rallies, and met some really cool people (plus i would always give the 'wave' when passing by another biker on the road coming the opposite direction :cookiemonster:).

The bikers whom i consider fucking idiots and fags are the ones who ride around with ridiculously loud pipes, and are constantly revving the shit out of the engine for no good reason, as well as driving like erratic squirrels through traffic.  These faggots are the ones who make the biker community look bad overall.

I think other people's bike mufflers sound like shit, but mine are perfect. Love my cruiser.

ya i flipped the throttle when i dropped down gears to do a wheelie or for engine breaking, but never pulled up along some poor motorist and incessantly revved it or went screaming through quiet neighborhoods like some of these fags.

nah i used to just have one of those bungee nets.  That bike was top heavy as fuck with the huge fuel tank.  If i were to get another dual sport i would go with a different model.  It was still alot of fun tho, being able to head off the road and into backcountry trails.

A KLR is a little heavy for a trail bike.  You honestly might be better off with a 250, though that's still pretty heavy.

In my state it's legal to run a red on a bike if you stop first. I do it as often as I can. As long as no leo are around. Seeing as they probably don't know the law..

That's not a good SOP and I doubt that the law lets you run a red unless the light runs on sensors which don't pick up your bike.

true.  in my state I think if you sit for like two minutes and the light don't change you are allowed to treat it as a stop sign.  because like you said some lights are triggered by sensors in the road and a bike often isn't heavy enough to trigger it.

I usually let the light go through a cycle to make sure that it's not going to turn green.  Unfortunately there are a lot of dead lights where I don't have fuck all visibility for cross-traffic, so I just avoid those intersections.

I love doing it. You know because of the attention I get x) anyways I got places to be and I'm not gonna let a light stop me from chasing my destiny. Also I'm sure it doesn't matter if they have sensors or not. I'm not qualified to differentiate between the ones on a timer and ones with sensors. The law says I can treat it like a stop sign so I do. Regardless if there is a car next to me because half the time they don't even pull up to the crosswalk.
