serilizing perlite?

do i need to sterilize perlite before i put it in the fruiting chamber?

no and yes.

it depends...

if used as an added moisture level, then I would say no..

but if your using it in the substrate, then I would say yes.

just when you wash the perlite, add some H2O2 to the mix.. that will keep it fresh and bacteria free.

im using it to saise humitidty in my fruiting chamber

so i microwaved for 5minutes stired then microwaved for 2 minutes

perlite for substrate... mmm sounds weird to me :confused:
Anyway austin if you're using perlite for humidification
purposes yes, sterilize it in the oven at 150 ? C for a
half an hour and then mist it.

When you'll be adding water to the terrarium, you could also
mix to the water some H202, as in my experience the perlite
may have been the reason for a contam problem.
