He said in the military they were still storing data on floppy disks I can't blame him for expecting to be able to come to civilian work and expecting them to allow him to actually make shit suck less. He was actually helping me figure out how to keep my team from doing duplicate work, which happens often, before he left.

I'm still trying to address it but I'm not a database manager and the higher ups don't begin to understand it... All their proposed solutions have actually made the problem worse.


There's always someone higher than you that thinks they can do your job better than you so you should do things their way simply because they're higher than you for some reason or another.
