well, she's not quite my significant other yet, although i'm hoping and thinking she will be soon. but i met her through a friend that she grew up with in Trondheim. she also lives in ?rhus for school, and came one evening to my school to party and see her friend. the first night she was here, i didn't even really talk to her - just a bit of casual chit-chat (at the time i wasn't very good friends with the friend she was visiting, as i had just moved here). then a few weeks later she came again, this time with a big group of drunken norwegians. that evening we talked quite a bit - and fell asleep together listening to Dead Can Dance. after then, there have been quite a few more evenings along the same lines... this weekend, i'll go to K?benhavn with her, and i've got the feeling things will turn more "official" between us...

It's a funny story really. I worked with this guy Kyle, and we found out we had similar intrests in music (strange fairly unheard of punk bands) and he invited me to a keg party at his house for his buddy's birthday. At the time I had a crush on Kyle but he had a girlfriend and well... in retrospect it just wasn't meant to be. But I still liked to hang around him so I said I would go to his party.
I went to another friends house where we had all planned to meet up and head over to this party, well when I got there one of my buddies had scored some mushrooms as payment for some sort of chore he had done for somebody else. So we decided to eat them and go to the party (what a silly idea but it turned out to be really fun.)
Anyway I show up at this party as I'm starting to trip a little bit and this guy walks in (it was his birthday party) and he walks up to me and my girlfriend who are sitting with our backs against the wall in this huge drunken keg party with no beer cups in our hands. He walks over to us ans asks "Why aren't you drinking?" Stupidly both of us just started giggling and he gave us this look like... oh I understand... So he says to us "here I have sometihng you might enjoy." Then hands me a strand of MArdi Gras beads, and that night those things were my world... I tripped on this kid and those beads for several hours.
The next day I brought the beads to work and told my buddy Kyle to give them back to the kid at the party, he told me to give them to him myself at another/smaller get together that night. So I did and we hit it off instantly, he still teases me about that night and how I stole his Mardi Gras beads, and it's still kind of a goofy magical moment to this day almost 2 years later.

I was too busy using thermite to destroy school property in science class.
Thanks for the stories, guys. They make me feel all warm and fuzzy. Krishna's story had a bunch of words I can't pronounce in it, but he said something about Dead can dance, so even his story warmed the cockels of my heart.

I don't give a crap where you meet someone. It just seems to me that with as many people as there are out there, its kind of like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. If dating sights help you narrow down the canidates a little bit, and find a like minded person you can spend the rest of your life with, or at least a little bit of time with, I say go for it.
My Dad told me today that I should go check out the babtist youth group on sunday morning. I said it sounded like a place where kids that traded their drug problems for jesus problems would hang out. But I'll try anything once. Next Sunday, I'm gonna go hang out with some bible thumpers. Do you think they would be on to me if I showed up all doll eyed?
