Navy Seal Dolphins!

I saw this documentary or whatever on the Navy Seal and how they have been training dolphins for their evil. In the 'dolphin program' (forget what it's called) they capture dolphins and keep them in 10'x10' pens, and they are trained to do killings. They made this special gun that goes over the dolphin's nose and is fitted with a single .45 shot. WHat they do is go underwater with some divers, and the divers will point a laser at an object and the dolphin will go up to it and tap it with its nose..which will fire a .45 round into it. It's for damaging enemy divers and subs. They also had the dolphins training to do other stuff, but it wasn't working very good because the dolphins don't want to kill people they just want to play.
This guy said that of the 30 or so dolphins they have had in the program, 12 have escaped. That's a very high rate. This guy used to be in the program but he quit because he said it was too fucked up. Those fuckers.. keeping dolphins locked up in a tiny tank and teaching them to kill people.

Good Christ! That's like like a chimp trying to train a fish to beat another chimp with a stick. I suppose the people who came up with this program in the first place were so lost in a pragmatic jungle that they failed to see the utter obsurdity of the whole idea.

It seems kind of hypocritical that people were all angry about the dolphins getting caught in the tuna nets. They had no problem eating tuna.
I think it's because dolphins look like they're smiling. People will only eat animals that aren't cute.

That's all rehashed shit from the 60's. They experimented with that stuff, but it never worked out because the dolphins were too shocked after the first time to ever use the explosive charges again. People just keep digging up old dated military experiments to be able to make their shrill cries about what is going on now.

I think it's because tuna are fish, which haven't neurologically evolved past the "aquatic brain" stage, but dolphins are mammals with a highly evolved neo-cortex -- along the lines of elephants and primates -- which most of us wouldn't eat either...

We have no problem at all eating pigs, and they're extremely intelligent. Pigs have been trained to play video games.

> Pigs have been trained to play video games. That's true. That was part of the secret Atari/Pentagon program back in the seventies. If I remember correctly they were trained to play Battle Zone and later drove M1A tanks in an elite armored battalion in operation Desert Storm. That is the secret behind the "Armor" in Armor pork products. Pigs are intelligent, but the problem is that they are also "yummy." Unfortunately, the larger ones are also perfect organ donors for xeno-transplantation, which although currently on hold in the USA by the FDA, will probably be a day-to-day reality soon. Personally, I like animals -- more than most people -- but I also know my place in the food chain and my duty to nature to devour anything in sight. If I was in a Brazilian soccer team whose airplane had crash landed in the Andes, in the dead of winter, with no food, I would immediately start figuring out which of my teammates I?d eat first, and just what sort of sauces we could whip up to marinate the meat with!

Actually, they were from Uruguay and they played rugby. And you can bet I'd have been the first one out there snacking on the dead dudes! And I can gaurantee it wouldn't have taken me nearly 2 weeks to decide to do it! Hell, I'd have had someone for breakfast the first morning!

The only problem with athletes is they tend to be stringy -- like eating horse meat. The best scenario would be a planeload of weight watchers members, as they would tend to have juicy, well-marbled, meat. There would also be more of it!
PS: Fred Garvin, I'm glad to see you plan ahead!
