Wow, how long did it take from casing to harvest? Did you sterilize your 50/50 and also, did you use coarse vermiculite? thanks,Pop Icon

SpaceCowboy- I got my Jiffy Mix at walmart. You have to look for it though, it's in the garden center. The idiots that work there didn't even know they had it...so if you ask, and they say they don't have it...look anyways.Pop Icon- I haven't harvested it yet....but it should be done within the next two days. I'm not sure how long it was, because I didn't write it down. But it was quicker than any other casing I've ever made, by a week at least. And, yes I sterilized my casing mixes. Lizard King says he doesn't, and get great flushes, so I may try not sterilizing next time, but for my first try I thought I should. And I used the finer type of vermiculite.

Ok you dont use a humidity tent looks like from the pic that you let let the caseing produce its own humidity. Am I right becasue I was thinking of caseing again with 50/50 without using a tarerium.????

PappaK, Nice job! I don't like deep containers because I think they make it too hard to pick cleanly, but I've got big hands too... They look great and I hope you enjoy them! Careful if you eat 'em fresh tho...assuming this is your first crop? I got looped last summer on some I grew because I was a little over zealous in my consumption. Shaker
