its not 100% white, but its showing the sympotms I described, its maybe 95%, the areas JUST under the top layer of soil is myelium in the areas where it hasnt totaally covered the top yet.

You might try scratching the casing layer with a clean fork or scraping off the casing layer and recasing the substrate. If you are watering the casing layer until puddles form, the casing layer could have become overcompacted and matted. Try reducing your watering and maintaining a humidity level of 90%-95%.------------------ "Not all drugs are good... some are great."

I just tried the scratching thing, seems to make the substrate suck up water again. THanks.. Im gonna try leaving the covers partially on as well to keep the humidity up, I'll let you know how it goes.

Just an update, the first casing of Shroms using the SHroom wizard's tek have pinned after 22 days in the casing!! (isnt that a little long?), there are approximatly 25 pins. But they dont seem to be shooting up, is this a symptom of something? Also, I'm going on vacation for a week, What should I do with my shrooms, leave the lid totally off? Leave it partway off (but then wont one side get dry and the other still be wet?) Or should I just leave it almost totally on with a little whole? THanks..

If you set up a fishtank bubbler outside you terrarium with the air outlets going into your terrarium on one side, it should keep your air circulating nicely. Put a couple of holes with some filter material on the other side to allow the co2 to vent. If you are going to leave the terrarium for a week, I recommend that you use a layer of perlite to maintain the humidity. If you can't put down a layer of perlite, I have heard that soaked perlite in old pantyhose can be used. You could put this somewhere in your terrarium to keep up the humidity.
