i use rye grain to colonize pasturizes wheat straw, great substrate. I am experiementing with a horse manure based compost. hourse manure is 90% straw and 10% horse droppings and urine along with various supplements for composting. but pasturized straw inoculated from colonized rye grain kernals is a great substrate. seriously check out the mushroom cultivator, some dumb ass said to me, "do you actually expect people to read the mushroom cultivator" what a complete fucking moron.
