Courting women is insane. I just don't even.

At this point, I don't even bother to try anymore. I just literally try to be friends with them and expect nothing out of it at all. Although of course I eventually try for sex, but that's not even my goal or expected or anything anymore. I pretty much just go into every conversation with women as if nothing will ever happen and I'll probably never see them again in my life. It's a really shitty way to approach anything in life, but it's the only thing that's made courting women remotely bearable for me.

OkCupid is better for dating, POF is more of a hook-up app I'd say. Your selection will be far higher on POF though because the numbers of matches you get are a LOT more.

OkCupid people tend to be uglier too, it's usually full of gross ugly hipsters and shit. But, they usually are more serious about finding long-term relationships.

I always found the opposite, but I am attracted to gross ugly hipsters.

I've given up on both tho and have started to embrace my aloneness.  People suck.

:feelssadman:

I've not used POF much, but maybe I should, since I'm not really looking for anything more than sex ATM.

I've used OKC a lot and had pretty mixed results with it... Just one really good match and a whole lot of major fucking duds. But I guess that's just how dating tends to play out in the end. I miss being in a relationship.

I've found that me being alone is not nearly as sad as me attempting dating.  I don't have much of a sex drive in the past years, probably from being a long term opiate addict, and I work 50 hours per week now and when I have free time I just want to relax.

Dating is really frustrating no matter how you look at it. After a certain number of duds, the notion of just throwing up your hands and saying fuck it has genuine appeal.

But I have a crazy sex drive so that basically keeps my ass out there and looking for new people to do sex stuffs with, even if dating is a huge pain.

especially online dating just seems to bring out what I like least in people.  I wish it wasn't that way, but there is just something so phony about it to me.  The relationship just feels created from the start, rather than happen organically, and there are alot of expectations.

Really depends on how you look at it, but I never have been able to swing it for long enough to meet more than a few people here and there, so my odds aren't so good.

I actually haven't had any romantic outcomes from okcupid, but I did find a great playmate who I slept with semi-regularly for a year or so. It was some of the best sex I ever had, she was such an attentive and tender and considerate lover, so ravenous, so rare. But then she moved to the other side of the country and got married. I'm still on okcupid chasing that kinky-voluptuous-Jewess-with-98%-compatibility dragon, but I doubt I'll ever meet somebody else like her.

Ironically, my first "real" relationship, first true romance and the closest I've come to having a life partner, was somebody I met on Tinder, which is actually supposed to be more for hookups than relationships. We broke up earlier this year, it's been really difficult. I feel like I'm down for the count on relationships for the time being. However I am still dating anyway, because I am a horn dog.

nahh they're okay for meeting people and for hookups if you're looking for that, it cuts through a lot of bullshit but in place of that bullshit there's a bunch of other bullshit you've gotta deal with.

It depends a lot on your area too. I can only tolerate using those apps for a stretch of time tho before I get tired of it and delete my account .

Last okc date I went on I'm pretty sure the guy tried to D.E.N.N.I.S. me.

Ugh. I once read the book 'The Game' by Neil Strauss after some urging from a friend. Some time later I remember standing outside work having a smoke and looking at a group of guys, smartly dressed to the point of looking silly, talking in that 'PUA' terminology I had read about. I couldn't help but feel sorry for them.

Lol, it's sad how much influence those ideas have on people. We've got a lost generation of Internet fuckboys who think the key to a woman's heart is verbal abuse.

But then, on the other side of that spectrum you have the fabled "nice guys"... They're even worse, and more concerningly, more dangerous.

@Jokeshopbeard, We had plans to go out to a local show and grab a bite to eat as it was our first date and I got there and he had already ordered food in, told me he was tired, and then spent most of the time talking about all the other girls he'd been hooking up with and greek life before trying to make a move on me - I ended up walking myself home at 1am in an ice storm, which was nbd as it was about a mile from where I lived but I...needed a break.

completely agree.

I value kindness, but 'nice guys' are the worst.

From that whole D.E.N.N.I.S thing you mentioned (I had to go look it up) it sounds like he was working on a contrived tactic. It's difficult for me to imagine being on the opposite side of the gender spectrum, but did it feel really obvious to you that it was something like that, or was the dude just hopelessly inept socially?

Plus, you gotta explain this 'nice guys are the worst' thing to me... I've seen men do some lame, sacrilegious shit in front of women that makes me feel ashamed to be part of the same gender, but am curious if it's the same kinda shit you're talking about.

JSB, you strike me as a "nice guy" in some ways. But not in an intentional way like fratbros.

I just picture you sitting around and being all kind to some girl, and then saying something like "you know, if you were a guy I would beat you lifeless right now" when she unintentionally does something to offend you

A little bit of both. It was really obvious he had one objective that evening, but at the same time he was a smart dude, was pursuing his masters at an ivy league in engineering, and I was so baffled as to how someone who was clearly so smart could also come across as really inept and at times small minded, but I think it was just social awkwardness - nonetheless I really didn't appreciate him trying to get in my pants that night under such false pretenses.

Kinda met up with him on a whim, pretty much every other date I went on was totally fine even if there wasn't really any romantic chemistry, I usually vetted them a little bit more to make sure we had some similarities so that even if it went no where I still had a good time on several dates with guys who would bro out with me.

Nice guys are dangerous because they often feel they're immediately owed something.. And, well, they can be dangerous. Stalking, etc.
They're so out of touch with reality and get so frustrated and mad when things don't go their way with women. Like a petulant child.
That stupid Asian dude that shot up the college a few years ago killing all those people was a nice guy. He made a video that he posted before the rampage about how all the women like douche bags instead of nice guys like him.. That was his fucking motive.. Legit..
