Syrian rue crystal extract results and commentary

Mixed 300mL 5% acetic acid with 200mL h2o. Weighed this solution, then weighed out a third of this weight in syrian rue seeds. The seeds were ground in a coffee grinder, then sifted to remove the nut.

Covered the ground seeds with the 500mL 3% acetic acid solution, and stirred. Let this sit in the fridge for 3 days.

Then the supernatant liquid was poured off and filtered with vacuum suction. The remaining filtered liquid was then heated to a boil (used a pot filled with water, and a beaker set in this pot with a paper towel separating the pot from the beaker).

Once boiling, non-iodized salt (NaCl) was added to convert the acetates of harmaline to hydrochlorides, which are insoluble in cold salt-water solutions.

The liquid was quick-cooled in a cold water bath, but no crystals precipitated. I have had [many] crystals precipitate at this stage before, however.

The liquid then was allowed to sit at room temperature over the weekend, and what resulted was a bunch of thin long red crystals of harmaline. The excess liquid was poured off, and the remaining liquid with crystals poured onto a paper towel. The crystal mass was then transferred to a dry paper towel.

This is what the crystal mass looked like under a blacklight. The crystals themselves do not glow, but the surrounding water with dissolved actives does.



The crystals were then put into a desiccant chamber to dry out.

These crystals are very pure compared to some obtained in the past. As I mentioned before, sometimes the cold water bath would cause small crystals to immediately precipitate, and once cooled the liquid would be vacuum filtered. What was left on the filter was a yellow-red mush that glowed under the blacklight.

Summary of bio-assays on syrian rue crystals:

1) The first time I took crystals, I took a good amount all in one shot. What resulted was a slight high, building up until the nausea point. Then holding down my stomach contents became impossible, and multiple purges followed. Wasn't too unpleasant, more a kind of "getting rid of the excess" puke, where you puke up whatever you don't need (where not throwing it up would just be more chemicals in the system and not much noticed difference).

After this point, everything started to become blurry, esp. lights in the perhiperal vision. Visual distortions continued, until everything in perhipery was blurred when I would move. Also, a humming or buzzing could be heard, and even felt.

One other effect I noticed was that music would speed up and slow down, like an elastic tempo.

2) On subsequent trials, doses were staggered, taken in small amounts (200mg at a time) until effects were felt or nausea was felt, whichever was first. I was able to achieve blurred perhipery, but I don't think this was ever more prominent than with my first experience (1).

3) I've smoked crystals, and they seem to cause a very subtle euphoria. If you're tripping, it adds much enhancement to the tryptamine.

you don't have to let soak for the 3 days for good yield i found. i just boil in acetic water 3 times for about 1h each time and filter/combine the water, add salt and let chill in the fridge overnight and filter out the crystal, put the brown water back into the fridge a day or two and filter out the crystal again. if you get crystals that are kinda reddish and chunky you can heat up some water, disslove the crystal into it, add salt (100g/1L ratio) and let chill in the fridge and filter and will result in nice golden crystals.

what are the effects of syrain rue, like pot?
kuz i have heard (on this site) that i can potinate lots of diff drugs (weed,shrooms,lsd) so i was just wondering what its effects are bt itsaelf

Syrian Rue contains an MAOI which can be deadly if mixed with certain foods and drugs. Do yourself a favor and read up at www.erowid.org before you start to explore.

Correct. Of all the MAOIs out there, rue is one of the safer... but you can still have a hypertension crisis resulting in death from it if you mix it with something like DXM. I would rather people assume the worst and read up and stay healthy rather than having another death on our hands.
