are plant genetics harder for analysis than human genetics?

if so why?

i dunno man
human genetics are so varied that a black and white person could be more similar to each other then someone of the same color

Analyzing genetics sounds hard.

I don't know enough about biology to say but i do know some plants have larger genome than humans and some are smaller which would affect how long mapping the genome would take.  Also most plants are polyploid so they can have like 10 or 20 sets of each chromosome instead of 2 like us so that might make it harder.

Plants have a longer list of genes and shit than we do. The tomato plant contains some 31,760 genes for instance, which is like 7k more than us.

No.
Botanists aren't going around analyzing human genetics. He directed the question at biologists so he could get an answer derived from experience.

Sorry, OP. I don't know the answer, just had to say that.

look into upcoming DNA sequencing techs its the future. I've  been working with different kinds at my UNI depending on the complexity of the genes and the dynamic interplay some algorithms work great always coming up with new ones though. Next generation sequencing machines are far out for sure!

they can decode more and more in less time

Genetic analysis isn't easy for plants or animals, there's diversity in all domains.

They all have DNA and the further back in history you go the simpler the genome.

If you're referring to the genome, eukaryotes(multi cellular) tend to have more complex genetics than prokaryotes(single celled)

i was reading today about how archea made the atmostphere like half as pressurized as it was today 3 billion years ago
but they made all sorts of nitrogen so shit started decomposing and it leveled off
also the sun was smaller at that point so there had to have been lots of green house gases

just because they have more genes doesnt mean it encodes for more things.

True there are a lot of genes that don't do anything, I'm just not sure how to answer OP's question other than to point to different genome complexities.

the answer to ops question is fairly straight forward. The answer is no for the most part. Its simple Molecular Biology. As genome sequencing technologies get better its faster and easier to sequence something within the kingdom of Plantea than Animalia.

Plants are easier cause of the humane genome project, which took like decades to complete.

currently there are GMO plants, which were modified with genetic science.

So currently we can genetically modify plants but not really genetically modify people cause human DNA is very complex with the 23 chromosomes and all.

its the epigenome which makes it so complex. But also you're mostly correct.
