Alien Dream Time and Terrence Mckenna

I was just wondering if anyone has seen this movie. I think i might just trip not today but the upcomming saturday, and wondering if it's a good movie to watch right before the trip to get me in the mood. I'm not really familiar with Terrence Mckenna, does he set himself apart from Tim Leary or do they both have the same kind of ideas?

McKenna kinda goes further into the idea of alternate dimensions, alien contact and such.
He also focuses more on mushrooms and DMT than LSD, which was Leary's primary focus once he hit his stride.

Oh, but they're both dead, if that's what you mean.

To me, they both have a very peaceful "vibe" around them and their work. I started to say Leary seemed more internal and McKenna more external, but that's just one read on them, of course.

terence believes(that is also what i believe)shrooms must be taken 5gr+ in silent darknes by yourself

that is what psycedelic experience is...

anyway your choice...if i were you i smoke some good quality pot...then watch it...

i think leary was buddhist if i'm right...
and mckenna was nihilist for sure...

also leary admires acid..
for mckenna there is nothing to do with visions of acid...he loved mushrooms,dmt and other shamanic plants...

Have you ever heard any Terence Mckenna audio tracks? Listening to his voice is a psychedelic experience in itself. I've heard Alien Dreamtime audio in mp3, and it's great. A lot for a mind to process in a limited time.

I too have been wondering how good the dvd is. I've listened to the audio version of the rave numerous times and have always been blown away. It is pretty dense stuff that if you haven't heard any of Mckenna's material before, but then again you may be very well versed in the field of metaphysics so it may not be a problem to you.

The Alien Dreamtime event is by far the most hypnotic Mckenna has made his voice IMO. I have heard numerous of his lectures in university settings, and he doesn't sound 1/10th as weird as he does at that rave. He knew that people were there on psychedelics so he pushed his voice as an instrument as far as it could go.

Don't forget to pay attention to the musicians in the event who are almost as important as Mckenna's raps. Stephen Kent is probably the best didgeridoo player I have ever heard, and he works so perfectly with Spacetime Continuum. You would think that they have played before, but in fact none of the artists involved had ever played together.

I'll probably order this soon in the combo pack form with 'strange attractor' which also features Mckenna with visuals by Rose X.

I don't think you'll find a link to that anywhere since it was actually released to stores. your best bet is to use a p2p program like soulseek to download it. this site has a lot of really informative interviews by Mckenna though.. http://mckenna.psychedelic-library.org/
