Appreciate the link... very interesting reading. Now all we have to do is track down that guy's source. I'm kind of skeptical that anyone has actually done a study involving the release of DMT from the pineal glands of fetuses. But if they have, hey, I'd be genuinely interested to read about it.

About the pineal gland, just thought I'd note, though not having personally experienced it myself...supposedly when one has an OOBE, there is always this silvery string that connects your mind to the body, and it comes out right where the pineal gland would be. It can apparently stretch out infinitely so as you can travel wherever you can possibly conceive of, and not break the connection between mind and body. Cut that string and you disconnect your life force from the body, thus dying. This is according to a man who had numerous oobe in his life.

dmt is not endogenous as suggested, although it has been detected in very tiny amounts in the intestines.

that is not to say that we shouldn't look within for inspiration and understanding:

consider that the entire cerebrum is very much like the retina of an eye - electrical activity resolves as thought objects

then what?

(anyway sex is determined by chromosomes at the moment of conception - so whatever you are thinking about happening at the 49th day might be a tantric calculation more closely related to cannabis clouds)

The pineal gland's function is to produce melatonin and regulate circadian rhythms as well as mood.

thank you sudly, just came across this thread and was going to post basically the same thing. I wish the pineal gland was a dmt producing organ. I wish this theory were closer to truth but it isn't unfortunately. I do think the pineal gland is a very special part of us and our physical makeup. The geometric construct of our body, and certain organs are very interesting. In this line of thought though I believe the copus collosum to be more important in the construct of our energetic antennae.

Anything chemically related to serotonin is significant though as this is our connection to the world within and the world outside ourselves.
