Never had that exact type of strat so I can't tell you which whammy bar to get

I was just wondering if you knew much about the various sizes as I couldn't find a ton of info online when I was looking.

There is a guitar center where I live so I will just have to get a ride over there with my strat one of these days.

I hate having a strat with a trem bridge but no wammy bar, it saddens me

Also strings don't have a magnetic field, the pickups do, so that's absolutely false.

You're right man. The strings are moving through the magnetic field, and I should have known that. But thicker strings do have a different sound. It's not just the output which would be the same as boosting the signal. It's more mass moving which gives a different sound, some would say beefier.

I'm not saying thick strings are the end all be all. I actually like 9's better for bending and vibrato with less tension. It might even make more of a difference in my playing than any thickness sound.  I may be switching back for that reason.

I haz 9s on my american strat and 10s on ze acousic. I might switch to a heavier guage for my electric just cause Eb would be more comfy to play. I keep my acoustic in Eb because it just sounds worst in standard, not by much but I can tell. The intonation is off and it drives me bonkers, needs new saddle and nut. BONE SADDLE HERE I COME lolol

I'll probably just do it myself though. I might take it to my local shop idk yet, depends on what they charge. Guitar center can suck it, cept for the one in Times Square. I got to play the most magical guitars there. The fender custom shop section was bliss. The $20,000+ vintage geetars in the back was like walking into tone heaven and I had that entire room to myself, twas noob free. I got to jam with this cute guy that worked in that area of the store. I also finally got to try a tube amp, was a vox ac30 I think. My ears came, end story.

I miss my Ibanez gio, that guitar just felt nice and sounds crunchy as hell with good sustain, especially for a cheap guitar.
