Can only find pints...ideas?

Howdy once again all,

I have looked high and low, and the only (tapers) I can find in town are pints.  Bit too small for popcorn, bit too big for PF Tek.  I can't afford to have 24 jars shipped--that costs and arm and a breast these days.  Keep in mind this will be my first, so I probably couldn't do anything to, uh..."tekkie", for lack of a better word. :rolleyes: So...any ideas?

do grain in the pint jars itll be fine just go by the tek for grains its easy or trade me something for wbs filter patch bag totally sterilized and ready to go all you need is a spore syringe and I can make them to the size that you want.

I'm leading somewhat of a hardscrabble existance right now. Well, hardscrabble for me, anyway! They only thing I have that I can part with is a couple of PC games (Diablo and Diablo II plus expansion set). Damn near perfect condition, but I have never (and probably will never) play it. Probably not what you're looking for, but like I said, it's all I've got that I can bear to part with. What can I say, I love my stuff!

*Edit--Oh, I forgot I have "Soldier of Fortune" Gold Edition for PS2 that I don't play.

Pints work... grains go great in pints... or you can do 'em pf tek style and cut 'em in half when you birth. Instant half-pint! Though you'd be fine birthing pint cakes, grains colonize faster and are more potent than brf.

Taffy--with all the crap that's been happening to me lately, I get a feeling that my soul's not worth all that much. Gotta pump up that good Karma!

I got my jars at Ace Hardware, too. Funny how the only store that has them now is a hardware store. Every place I called said "We don't have them now, they're a seasonal item." Well excuse the hell outta me, I thought winter was a season!

Cervantes, what kind of grain would you recommend? WBS? I was hoping to do popcorn because of all the raves it gets, but I think pints are too small for it. I wanted to do some PF-Tek in case I screwed up the popcorn, so I'd have something to fall back on (fruits of the labor, so to speak). But I've read if you use pints they are more prone to contams, since they take longer to colonize. True? If so, could I just fill them halfway?

Woo hoo!  I found some 1/2 pints!  Only 12, but hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.  Sterilizing jars as we speak in my new PC, wishing godspeed to Ralphster... :wink:

Walmart will order them if you pester them... If you buy them all up right away, they'll put out even more...
