I don't wanna fuck up

Okay the story is basically I have been going out with this girl I really really like for almost a week now, but she is shy and I have anxiety which makes things a little awkward.

It looks like I have to be the "assertive" one but i'm finding it hard to make a move, she's getting the impression im fucking her around now. Has anyone got any advice on stuff to do(either relationship or anxiety wise)

I really don't want stuff between us to end just because im being a nervous fool :frown:

try to get her talking about something she enjoys, find out about her. If you can- double date. This can take some of the pressure off of the both of you if things are a going a bit rough.

Communication is key and do what u have to in order to get her to open up.

wtf im not gonna double date, but yeah im going to my m8s to see her tonite, hopefully all goes well although I have been anxious quite a lot today due to a driving test and gym induction. I have to explain all this stuff to her but basically I seem to just be screwing up because im thinking about it. I need to chill out, get pissed or something.

ill try and sort myself out if i can argh.

Why don't you tell her what you are telling us? Best advice I can think of right now.

Oh, and make her feel like you appreciate her. Compliment her.. Include her in things.. *shrug* Any girl that feels appreciated won't be having negative thoughts about a relationship.

I need to just mellow out really, she said we should leave things until we get to know each other better. This is probably a good idea, I just need to stop worrying so much about every little thing.

Im just going to see how it goes, if things work thats great but if they don't it means we don't end up going out for a while not really getting along.

my girlfriend pretty much made the first move a few weeks into our relationship for our first kiss

i was planning on it this one night when i was with her, but i was so nervous about whether it was okay that i ended up just not doing it the entire time ... because of my anxiety she became upset inside and thought i didn't like her or want to do it (i didn't find this out till months later in our relationship), but luckily she 'helped' and started out the first move

i'd say it's always best to do it regardless, because if you don't, you're automatically losing out anyway ... if you do, at least you have a chance of it being positive ... at worst, she'd probably just pull away, i don't think she'd run away and hate you or anything  :smirk:

heh the girl I like wanted stuff to just happen naturally between us, the thing is I thought that I was going to be thought of as an arsehole if I tried to get close to her because I thought someone like her would never like me. My friend told me that she fancied me but it has just caused me to go all tense, things were cool between us before I started worrying too much, anxiety messes with my head :frown:

I'll just had to see what happens at the end of the day, the more I worry the more I fuck up  :nut: if I chill out I think things will sort themselves out.

I say take something to take off the edge. A light dose of a Benzo should clear up that anxiety quite nicely. Dont go shit faced but if nervousness is what you have, there are prescriptions for that. FOr some reason, Hydrocodone works like a charm for me. I start talking sophisticated and philosophical sometimes and even throw in some poetry. The girls love it even though Im not tryin to pick them up, they always seem to ask "the question" by the end of the day.

I've heard of benzo but I dont have a clue wot it is, never heard of hydrocodone. Im on cirpalex/lexapro, this was meant to clear up my anxiety after 4-6 weeks according to my doctor(well the depression has gone but a m8 on the same tablets says it took them 4 months to sort his anxiety)
