Let Pedos Virtua-Diddle???

The argument has been raised that we should let pedos diddle in VR to treat their 'affliction'. 

I try to stay open-minded, but I can't help but feel that this is not right and pedophilia is more than just an attraction to children. 

I'm inclined to believe it stems from some perceived weakness or lack of affirmation from the offender's own age group, leading to a desire for power or influence over others which is unobtainable otherwise than ignorant and manipulable youngsters.

This would, then, mean that it could be treated with therapy or (god help me) group support, and not just by appeasing their revolting persuasion. 

I mean, in nature, surely, prehistoric humans were less discerning about age than we in the 21st century Western societies (since child marriages are apparently still cool), but then again, surely, some of those prehistoric humans probably got their skulls caved for attempting to mate a young one with its family around. 

I still can't help but say we should have a big wall somewhere public that we nail them to with nailguns and keep em up there a few weeks.

A lot of the top comments I see on the topic are that we should just kill them.... fuck that, though.

These fucks should be made to suffer for a lifetime.  Make em' slaves or something, god knows we only pretend to have a problem with slavery.  Then maybe the 65-year-olds and the penal-pedo camp (lol) can molest the 45-year-old ones, and so forth down through the ages.  There, we can appease them in REAL reality.

I dunno I think it's a good idea...pedophilia is a mental disorder like schizophrenia, bi polar, multiple personality disorder ect...why should people with those mental disorders be able to get help but a pedophile is "deemed" unrecoverable it's pretty much bullshit IMO. An if you don't think it is look at the busts that are happening everywhere as a result of the laws not adapting to the societal changes that have occurred particularly within social media. 18 an 19 yr olds getting labeled as sex offenders for the rest of their lives because they have pics of 16, 17 year olds on their phone and facebook...you got to be shitting me... the laws need to change to adapt with current society the FBI is going fuckin nuts busting people left n right atm because of outdated an irrelevant internet laws.

I can agree with this, but the line seriously has to be drawn somewhere.  At some point around like 20 you should be looking forward not back, and if you're so mentally decrepit that you choose to be around people that are still doing what you were doing 4-5 years ago, you have already doomed yourself to a life of shit, pedophilia aside.  Further, you are choosing to be complicit in bad decisions that -children- have a certain lenience toward because they're -children- but you are just there hanging around like 'ya sounds fun.' 

But that's the dark grey area pedos, when I think pedo, I think 37-50 bald guy and 14 year old girl.  Call me old-fashioned..

These days you have 15 year olds being prosecuted for pictures of themselves...  it's really a tough time to grow up in, I think.

As I see it as you grow up you develop in many different ways. I think pedophiles are stuck in their sexual development, that they simply didnt grew into being attracted to their age group. We all liked kids when we were kids and our liking developed as we did, but pedophiles never outgrew that. So, in a way "sexually retarded" as much as someone with down syndrome is developmentally held back on a far wider scope of functionality.

Thought experiment: suppose in virtual reality someone blows a virtual donkey. Is it a crime of bestiality? No, because no actual donkey was involved in the lewd act. So if pedophiles play out a pedo scenario where one of them plays a virtual kid, or a bot is made that reacts in such a matter.. There's no real kid involved so where's the crime? If someone makes a drawing of a girl being fucked by a dog, theres no real girl and no real dog. Then there is this paragraph where such acts are described in words. Should THAT be illegal? Illegal words? Illegal drawn lines? Illegal pixels?

Stop any activity that harms actual children and teens before the age of consent. Put all your law enforcement effort there, not on chasing questionable artists or consenting adults playing questionable games.

Virtual Reality isnt big now but it will be EVERYTHING in some years. Most of us will have cheap made in china Oculus Rift knockoff VR glasses and have VR meetups and play VR games and visit VR websites. The Shroomery might even have a Virtual Shroomery Gathering part of the website where members can login to a virtual campground by the beach and visit a 3D mushroom information center - I proposed something like that to Ythan a few years ago using the OpenSimulator platform, but its still in the alpha software stage.

Virtual reality will be huge and then things like this will become important. And they will become widespread.

Fight actual victimization of children and teens before the age of consent. Since you cannot suppress all questionable things, put all your efforts on preventing and persecuting victimizations. If a child's abuse slips through the cracks because the LEO was tracking down two adults who were playing questionable games in VR, everybody loses.

In VR ( http://secondlife.com ) I know a Jewish lady and her guy, and in VR they play out that he is an uniformed SS nazi viciously interrogating her and this becoming an erotic thing for them. Now thats all sorts of fucked up right there but.. shouldnt consenting adults be able to roleplay whatever they want between them, if they do it in private?

For me the essence of crime is thatv someone is victimized, so someone smoking a joint, to two consenting adults getting their weird kink on, isn't crime.
