Transfering files from corrupted partition? SOLVED
    #22742206 -

Well wife's computer got fucked, won't reboot, spent the better part of the day trying to fix it and have just said fuck it and was going to transfer all her files to my computer, format her harddrive and reinstall fresh. I plugged the drive up to my enclosure and the only thing that shows is the reserved system partition. Eventually I got the actual partition with the data to show up but it would give no info (not even it's size) and just locks up if you try to get into it. I got partition wizard and I can see the files through the view/explore option but cannot copy them over or anything through that feature. They're there, they can be read, so there has to be a way to copy that shit over, but I can't seem to figure it out. I know I can just copy the entire partition but as that seems to be the issue to begin with (and not the drive since the other partitions have no problem letting me explore them without any added utilities) that would be pointless.

So how do you extract the data through partition wizard from the enclosure/hdd to my actual hard drive?

I use Get Data Back for recovery of data. It could be a partition table/mbr issue that is keeping you from accessing the data.

Problem solved, finally managed to get the partition repaired and accessible. Transferring everything off then doing a fresh wipe and clean install just to make sure this doesn't surface again down the line.
