File Transfer
    #6180392 - 10/17/06 08:37 PM (17 years, 4 months ago)

So I'm finally moving out of my house and I would like to transfer all my files from my home computer to my new computer. Ive tried doing so via a network but I'm going to need all kinds of hard/software that I don't have and don't want to get just to transfer files. So I was wondering if anyone knew how to directly connect two computers via an ethernet cable without any extra hard/software.

There are two types of cables: patch and cross

If you don't have any other hardware, you need a cross cable. You most likely have patch cables, because patch cables are used 99.9% of the time.
