No. He's probably trying to figure out who is stealing cable.

I knew you had a sensible side. Let it out more often.

On second thought... don't. I'd miss the laugh your posts mainly consist of.

Just had a Comcast tech knock on my door and want to "measure for interference".

At the split where the modem was in my room, then proceeded to plug in his measurement device, say there was no interference from the drop to modem, use a small wrench to tighten down all the cable connectors to the splitter and modem.

He is currently working on the cable drop running from the pole to the house, I'm going to check where he is working later to see if there's anything odd going on. He does have a legit Comcast bucket truck and Comcast vest on but has tattoos on his hands and face and a giant ducking  beard. Not saying he's trying to rob me or anything but he doesn't look like your normal xfinity tech. Could it be cover for police or DEA or someshit that I've been up to?

Comcast doesn't need to enter your house to monitor you.

A more interesting question is... why do cable techs with tattoos and a beard scare you so?

Why would you let him in your house uninvited?  That's not normal or safe...  Comcast needs to contact you, ask permission and make an appointment to come into your house.  You shouldn't even be answering the door for strangers...

Yeah, right? Like wtf, I'd be like "fuck off man." Would never let a stranger into my house.

But on the bit about paranoia - undercovers can and will pose as workers, like fedex and controlled deliveries.

You've already been under surveillance. Comcast is just a front for Homeland. This is a massive operation to gather as many people into one easy to monitor program as possible. As well as an excuse to get into as many people's homes as possible under the guise of "service calls" where they plant pinhole cameras and bugs throughout your house.

They don't need physical access for surveillance.. This is a "sales brochure" for a surveillance suite that was leaked last year. It's capabilities are ridiculous. They're contractors for government security services / other pseudo-legal entities.

https://pound.netzpolitik.org/wp-upload/FF_SolutionBrosch%C3%BCre_RZ_web.pdf

The source got leaked, there's 40gb of data stolen from this company floating around on the internet..

tl;dr - they don't need physical access to do shit.

When I got the comcast guy stoned, he sat in his work truck white faced for a good 45 minutes. I hope he didn't get fired.
