Peruvian Torch growing in England
    #2250057 -

I just bought two 8-10 year old Peruvian Torch cacti from potseeds.co.uk. I was wondering if anyone had any experience of growing San Pedro of Peruvians in the UK. If so could you give me any info on when the best time is to start watering and if I need to have any special arrangements, ie heating or lighting, due to the temperature here. Also these cacti are only about 7 inches tall, but they are 8-10 years old. Is this due to the climate in England? Thanks a lot for any help.

Damn I assumed they were small due to the climate, with summer not being that long or hot. Ah well. Jungle did you grow yours from seeds? How much growth do you get in a season in the Uk? Also if you know any good suppliers in the UK could you PM me? Thanks a lot.

If you get a reasonable size cutting then between 6 and 12 inches per year depending on the size of the plant, the bigger the more it will grow. if you use lights you can double that, potentialy. I have sme seed plants (dont bother!) i payed ?25 for a 5 foot Echinopsis Peruvianus rooted cutting, this is 5-7 doses, a stump (grows more cacti) and a cutting. I will PM you
