I keep waiting for that top right corner to go green, but so far it is still just chilling. I'll be pulling all the fruits on Wednesday and if it hasn't gone green by then I'm gonna dunk it and see what else it might do...

Pull the fruits when they are ready. Those are pretty blobby and might get bigger than ya might expect.

I saw one go from a speck to the largest in the tub in 4 days, so I know what you mean. The problem lies in the fact that the event the tub was for is Wednesday.

As far as I understand it, if I scour it clean, dunk it, and return it to fruiting conditions it will essentially reset the sub minus whatever nutes were spent on putting out what I took.

I hope that the ones that are ready will be enough because I'd really rather not screw up the log, but if not... well, this tub had one purpose from the start so no big loss. I have another tub 8 days in to colonization, 12 quarts of spawn at ~50%, 15 blank dishes, 23 empty quarts, and 4 empty totes. That is to say, I'm really unconcerned with ruining this one to have a good time.

Thanks for the suggestion none the less. Here's to hoping I can follow it...

Not sure why I was worried. I pulled the mature ones this morning for my party and took my clone plates. Gonna have to bring in another head on it too.



I think that will do it for 2 people

Well I'm glad I didn't do anything drastic... I just pulled 459.9g wet from the tub, bringing the total to ~755g. I should at least hit the 1oz/qt mark so I am more than pleased...

Those are waaaay over ready brotha, they will most likely be less potent by weight 'cause you're letting them overmature quite a bit when they flare up that much.

I disagree. They ain't looking fuzzy or soft yet. Might be just right.  Most of the weight at the end is water and that just dehydrates off. So they don't really lose potency by weight if you dry them. If you eat fresh then that's different.

Given that tubs beginnings its nice to see it still put ouy some food for ya :thumbup:

IME with that form of KSSS mutation when they begin to open up they drop spores and as they keep flaring up like that they start to overmature a bit.

Mine never looked fuzzy or soft, always rock hard except the caps which were flimsy and showed both the same spotting, color changing and rip from rapid growth as his does.

I thought part of the point of harvesting at veil tear/tearing is to restrict water being taken on after. So a 3" mushroom with a veil tearing that finally gets picked with the gills flaring and at 5" would not have 2" of psychedellic components.

Am I correct in that assumption or what am I missing?

What your missing is that extra water weight just dries off anyway. So if a 10 gram wet fruit at the time of the veil tearing dries down to 1 gram dry, then that is not going to change if it was allowed to put on another gram of water weight. It will still weigh a gram when it comes out of the dehydrator. But it will matter if you're eating them fresh because that water weight is still there.

No doubt. And given that my next tub triched out (dirty spawn from my first round of grain :facepalm:), I'm glad this one didn't keel over on me before my last camping trip of the year.

I am planning on planting the sub with trich in the yard and casing it with jiffy mix so it won't be a total loss but that definitely won't fruit in time...

...and another 622g today puts me at 1377g wet. Not bad for my first bulk. Gonna grab me some more clones from these fatass clusters and call it a day... I love this hobby.
