It was a pre internet fascination, mostly during my teens and twenties, and not structured. I visited libraries and bought chemistry textbooks and worked through em.

I didnt LEARN chemistry but I FIGURED IT OUT which is why it comes so intuitively to me. Not a boast. I much rather had gone the formal route, I just was too broken psychologically.

And yes a reasonable scope of knowledge. I Edisonned it.

My mother hated scrubbing the street pavement in front of her house for algi growth, which she despised. I devised a novel approach to tackle the problem. I calculated and put into action a treatment of the freshly cleaned pavement that involved a sunny day and the subsequent treatment with two solutions.

Never during the rest of her life did she have to scrub algi again

Dust makes you fat (to dumb it down for the general public).

It has been shown that common household dust particles tend to accumulate aromatic polybrominated flame retardants among other chemicals that acts as ligands and in many cases agonists of the human PPARγ receptor that in turn drives adipogenesis. The amounts ingested by humans are relevant to these effects.
