Cakes made with purified drinking water with calcium chloride and sodium bicarbonate
    #22018688 - 07/30/15 08:00 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Someone wasn't paying attention and made their cakes with "purified drinking water" and the fine print says "with flavor enhancing minerals"

On the back it says "ingredients: purified water, calcium chloride, sodium bicarbonate".

The someone made all of their cakes with 2 cups vermiculite, 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon gypsum, 1 cup brown rice powder.

Is this person screwed? I should have searched but the more answers the better. Thanks. Oh, the person steam boiled them for 90 minutes. He had no pressure cooker.

Should still work, CaCl is a common media additive for certain labs. Sodium bicarbonate isnt as basic as sodium carbonate so it should be fine. Simply use tap water next time unless your water is diseased or really toxic.

I personally would toss them because PF jars are so cheap to do but its not necessary.

On a side note, gotta read the rules bud. This belongs in mushroom cultivation. In advance myco we talk about stuff like clamydiospores, enzymes, protoplasts, genetics, morphology, etc. Just random biology stufff. If ypu ever need help with your grow post in mushroom cultivation or the noob forum.

:goodluck:
