me first glovebox

My First Glovebox Ok, here?s my first attempt at a glove box. After reading all the controversy over the positive pressure boxes and just wanting something simple and effective I built this little gem in about 30 mins. The hardest part was finding gloves that were right
Here?s the parts I started out with. These ?gauntlet? gloves from lowes proved to be to short to let me access all of the box so I started searching for something better to replace them with. total cost less than $20 can't upload any more pics so they'll come along in the next few days
I first marked the holes with a sharpie then used a rotozip to carefully cut the plastic. If you look at the one of the right you?ll see I cracked the box trying to force the 4?pvc end cap into a hole slightly to small. Glued and taped it so hopefully it?ll be ok, but will end up redoing this box because of that.; The welder glue takes 24 hours to dry, Notice that the flange is on the outside ( Found these beauty?s US govt surplus. 15? long chemical/solvent resistant real rubber with cotton inserts. I have 18 pair so if you?d like a pair and have something to trade shoot me an email. They?re all new in unopened packs ( For more information or to acquire a pair of these gloves go to http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...&PHPSESSID= peace rh95

Where'd you find the gloves and how much did they cost you? They are long enough to reach every corner of the box?

I have 17 pair of these gloves and would happily trade. They are really perfect for this type of glovebox.

Dont worry about that crack, just glue/silicone it. No need to make another unless the crack keeps reopening when using the box. Good luck.

yea that's pretty much what I did. I'm a little disapointed in how brittle this plastic is though. Gonna keep my eyes open for something a bit sturdier as I tend to be hard on 'things' The lid also cracked the second time I tried to open it more glue/tape ugh!!
I also ended up having to duct tape the gloves to the pvc as they came off when I stuck my hands in bummer but it works anyway.

try using cable ties on the glove/flange. You know the ones i'm talking about...
The ones that you can't take off without cutting.

WOW thats pretty nice.
I need to build one of those right now I'm using plastic deli sadwitch holders to make syringes. This would be much better + the price is right.

Grain to grain transfers, innoculations... If you are doing the PF-Tek you probably innoculated over the oven using the oven tek, well its like a step up from that. The kind of things you would want to do using the oven tek, except better. To do a grain to grain transfer, you actually need to open the jar! So as you can figure, a glovebox isn't neccesary for the pf-tek.
I really want some of these gloves but I'm broke from christmas shopping!
