Take it easy EASY it sounds as if everything is going alright.I have heard that if you wait until the cake is totally snow white and still has condensation forming to let it shrink up for another week before birthing.If you still see substrate when you birth it you are prone to contams.Besides some have observed that the shrooms or at least the primordia are more plentiful and robust if you dont get in a big hurry to birth the little guys.Let them shrink.Be cool and good luck.Remember patience really is a virtue.

The strands are a good sign. Means that your mycellium is strong and healthy. "Strandy" mycellium is commonly refered to as "Rhizomorphic", a word you will no doubt hear many a time here. Listen to lasergic' advice and just let them go for a bit.
