Have you ever attended a lecture by a charismatic figure (President, Professor, Famous Person, etc.)

One time I went and listened to former president of Mexico, Vicente Fox, speak at Wayne State University in Detroit. It was beautiful. He had some radical ideas (open borders, shared currency, etc.) but he was such a powerful figure and gave a captivating speech. He was an amazing speaker in my opinion, wish I could find the speech somewhere.

I also went to listen to the guy based on Will Smith's movie, The Pursuit of Happyness. He basically recapped his life. He was charismatic and inspirational too but I wasn't as moved as listening to Vicente Fox.

Ever listened to someone like this? Maybe a pastor? Public figure? Went to a Ted Talk? Heard a professor give a good public lecture?

That would suck if we opened the borders to Mexico. The last thing we need is a bunch of psychopathic cartel members raiding the US and stealing people's livers.

I haven't seen all too many inspirational speeches in person though.


One time I was on 4-aco-DMT and was watching the Adam Sandler movie "Big Daddy", and the little speech he gave in the courthouse seemed extremely profound and inspirational at the time.

I saw Cornell West speak at my university last year, and it was disappointing. I felt like it was scripted ra-ra and took next to nothing away from it.

I also saw Wade Davis (A hero of mine, although probably not widely known in contemporary culture) - I was hanging off every word. So personable and knowledgable and real - best story teller i know of.

I saw Bill Clinton speak on the quad at Georgetown a few days before his inauguration. I also attended the Reagan's inauguration but that doesn't count in the threads context.

I went to one of those Herbalife things once because someone I knew insisted on

it all reminds me of these Tedx talks that everyone decided to post here and on
facebook, overall most are pretty good in the fact that they are trying to convey
some great ideas but then there are those that are dogshit and it drags the
credibility of all the tedx videos down

I saw mother fuckin' Jesse Jackson at OSU campus Gill Coloseum when I was on a 6th grade(1986-87) field trip. He was running for president.:rofl:

Several bUt they were most from regular civilians, always very inspirational regardless. U find people like that In everyday life.
