Is there really a Santa Claus?
    #2131684 -

There have been many sightings and tons of anecdotal evidence and a long history so he must really exist, must he not?

I seen him once when I was five.

He was awfully skinny though.

Come to think of it, he looked an awful lot like my mothers boyfriend.

I have not seen santa since.....

Come to think of it, I haven't seen that boyfriend since then either....

Or,

Santa claus the Wizard, flying raindeer, Aminita Mushroos???

Elves, ohh maybe a DMT, Wizard as well???

Anyone else think Nicholas the Wizard and St. Nicholas of the Catholics are two different people???

How about Christmas falling on the Winter Solstice???
Kinda a pagan holiday, isn't it??

 That's Sinterklaas! The Dutch Santa!

This is him:

He is visiting Holland right now! Sinterklaas is a very old white man with only black slaves(I'm serious) The black slaves of Sinterklaas are called "zwarte pieten"(=black peters):

Very racist thought, but it's generally accepted over here.

Yes there is, I call her Gran. She generally doesn't move as fast as the legends describe though, and sometimes she needs a little help down the stairs.

Damn,

That is some fucked up shit. My wife is from Bavaria. She said they have some different takes on holidays. I realize Bavaria and Holland are different places, but they are still predominately Germanic. But, damn, Slaves for Santa the slave owner. Anyone else think that is too much. Elves ok. but European men dressing up as Africans, who btw are an obvious copy of the racism in the states in the early half of the last century, to celebrate a Catholic/rendition of Christs' birth along with the obvious date change because of the pagan holiday of the winter solstice. I don't know, maybe I'm just looking at it from another perspective. I am sure it has to piss someone off, over there.

This thread is bordering on too silly, Swami

Once, men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free.
But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

No, that's the cool part! It has nothing to do with Christ! We just celebrate his birthday (December 6th).

Not at all!

I started it to make a point that most here completely missed. Many people here believe in equally nonsensical imaginary things and use Santa Claus-like "evidence" to support there claims; yet cannot see the fallacy of using anecdotal reports and mythical history as "proof".

I think your point was pretty obvious.

Yes, the point was obvious to those that had already "gotten it", but not to the alien / Atlantis crowd.
