Original Poetry, and HI :D
    #2124348 - 11/20/03 04:55 AM (13 years, 8 months ago)

I see a lot of music, and art get posted here.  This is wonderful.  But where are all the writers??  With the grammar I frequently see here, sometimes I'm not surprised, but still... you'd think there'd at least be one English nazi willing to take up the forefront of literacy on the internet.  Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how crappy your mechanics are), I am here to fill that role for you all!  I know, you are all overjoyed at my presence, and overwhelmed by my astounding grace in accepting this highly prestigious appointment, and I take it with pleasure.  Now, watch your spelling fuckers, or I'm going to lightly powder my hand with talcum and slap you so hard you'll actually be able to see your eyes flying out of your head.

And now, some poetry:

First, a haiku, titled "Transition":
Searing, hoary flames
Icy winter sweeps the day
Before its frost-scythe

Another haiku, titled "Public Policy"
Public, Opinion
Synonyms for diff'rent beasts
Error, is fatal

One more haiku, this is one of my favorites, if only for the word-play, from the deep annals of time, titled "Six Cities":
Six cities away
Seasons change with change of heart
Current, eternity

Then, a few thoughts in free verse, maybe with meter, I'm just going:
edit: meter is dactylic tetrameter ( /** /** /** /** where / = stressed, * = unstressed )

Walking and talking and floating these rhythms of
Policy, fallacy, intrigue and soldiery,
Hypnotize listeners making them dream then of
Democrats, liberty, mom's apple pie, when all
Foreigners want is to be left alone with their
Gods and their guns and their barrels of oil, we
Make it our right to defend all their lives by dis-
arming their armies and taking their knives and we're
Pulling their teeth and we're clipping their wings but we
Aren't giving thought to results of these things and all
We're going to get, with good actions we meant is a
Big smoking hole in a block of cement.

I know, I fucked up the last line, but keeping that kind of rhyme is fucking hard  Anyway, comments are appreciated, also more original work!
