Does anyone know anything about Artist's Conk? Where to get spores? Growth parameters etc?

why do you want to grow applanatum? i harvest it wild each year to make tincture but never thought to clone and grow cuz nature does it for me

quote from a ganoderma fb page mod: "Spore germination is low in Ganoderma <10% viability. So tissue culture is the best way, agar-grain-sawdust/woodchips.... There are many other species that are much easier to cultivate, G. resinaceum, G. sessile, G. lucidum, etc..."

Out-Grow sells cultures. I don't remember seeing anyone doing a grow of it. Being a ganoderma I imagine it can be done though.

i think i saw a grow from MrCloudy.

But they grow everywhere in the (temperate) forest, so there's often not really a need to grow them.

I am interested in growing it for artist friends of mine. The scratch-board-like property is pretty amusing. I might have to hit you up shortly, Juicy. Right now I don't have anything going really. Just some oysters I am trying to grow out from print. I am just coming back from a few years of inactivity in the hobby, the pigs took pretty much everything but the oyster print I took for collection purposes. I have some stuff on order though. Hopefully I should be back in trading shape before long.

Hello, I have a Ganoderma applanatum culture. It is rather slow growing. I think it may be well suited to growing in a dry environment, but that is just a suspicion.










Growing on wild bird seed.

You can draw on the bottom of all or most Ganoderma actually. G.applanatum just has small pores so the lines are very sharp and crisp.


I did draw on mine after it was done growing.
