A rating suggestion

I think it would be nice if there was some sort of electoral college on the rating system, so that if the person who's rating someone has a low rating their rating won't count so much. It's not very important to me but if it can be easily done then why not? Can it be easily done?

I used to go to this one site that had different levels of membership (depending on length of time they were there, how much they participated in the forums, etc...) and each level had it's own rating weight - e.g. the higher lever of membership the more a person's rating was worth

I don't really know if it would be possible to do something like what you're talking about unless it was set up pretty much the same way (or at least some way similar)

but it's not a bad idea I guess (I'm just not sure if it could be done)

We had discussed having such a karma-styled rating system before, but not much has ever come from it. It would require a lot of work, and would be controversial. I do think, however, that it is in the back of all of our minds, so who knows... :wink:

I have another rating suggestion. It seems that (at least for the general ratings) 5 shrooms is not enough for the average rating. Would it be possible to make it 10 half-shrooms? So you would still give a 1-5 rating, but in the threads, the averages above their avatars would fill up in half-shroom increments to give a more accurate rating without looking through all of the ratings. Just a thought.
