They were found growing in clusters on woodchips. Clusters came up with some chips and very white mycellium attached some strandy.
The caps on these do not have any scales, the largest cap is 5 cm.
There were 3 sizes of gills with ridges running down the stems from the point the largest gills attatched to the stem.
There was no veil on any even the smallest mushrooms found, about 2 mm cap width. I didn't find any buttons so can't say for certain that there was no veil.
Some of the stems on the largest mushrooms were hollow. Stems on larger mushrooms tapered to the base.
Smelled like G.spectabilis without the flowery aspect. Tasted bitter.
The gill edges, cap edge and base darkenned from handling to brownish orange.
The smallest mushrooms were darker and purple brown and the caps on the smallest ones were dry.
